I am so excited that we will be a part of the Madison Public Library's Bubbler project with Google and MakerEd. We'll be getting guidance, expertise, and assistance in further developing our own makerspace over the next few years. Classroom connections and a crowd-sourcing campaign are in our near future. I also prepared a presentation about how to develop a makerspace in a school library recently. It gives an overview of how to plan and schedule a makerspace, what a makerspace is, and some really good resources.

Oh yes! A first grader drew a car using the iPad app Cubify Draw., then made it 3D and printed it with the MakerBot. It's what I have been waiting for... not a modified template of an object, not built piece by piece, but an object imagined by a student and brought to the real world with digital technology. And it is just a beginning!
